As compared to metals, plastics, being non-metallic, are completely protected from corrosion. There is no risk of aerobic, galvanic (electrochemical), pitting and inter-granular corrosion mechanisms. But when it comes to load applications like tanks and vessels, plastics alone do not have the ability to sustain as these are low in strength and their modulus property becomes more prominent at high temperatures (above 60 degrees).
