These Heat Exchangers are mostly used on Diesel Generating sets. Here on this Exchangers Engine water is circulated on the Shell side and the Raw water from the cooling tower is circulated on the Tube side.
Mostly these Heat Exchangers are having construction with fixed Tube Sheets with Shell side parts are made out non-corrosive materials. The covers are mostly with Cast iron to avoid rusting and suitable for frequent opening and cleaning. The tubes will be made out of thicker gauge tubes.
