Footwear slip resistance tester is used to measure the dynamic coefficient of friction of whole shoe sole, forepart or heel, for evaluation of shoe slip resistance. The specimen is put on a test floor and subjected to a specified normal force. Set the specified number of test cycle and test speed, and then the test floor is moved horizontally relative to the specimen. Both the normal force and frictional force between the specimen and test floor are measured to calculate the dynamic coefficient of friction. Footwear can be tested in three slip modes: forward heel slip at angled contact, backward slip on the forepart and forward flat slip, representing three different slip modes in reality. Standard
