The BS476-6 Fire Propagation test apparatus is used for determination of rate of growth of fire in a compartment. It gives Fire propagation Index and indices, which are used as critical parameters for Class O classification.
It consists of a chamber and controller. Specimens are burned in the heat and flame effect. While burning, temperature of effluent is measured for recorded at prescribed times. Real time monitoring curve of temperature is shown on desktop given with apparatus.
