A method for forming solid cleaning agents starts with hydrated forms of salts that generally have considerably lower melting points in their hydrated forms. The hydrated salt cleaning agents are heated to form a melted cleaning suspension. Additional ingredients can be mixed into the melted cleaning suspension.
