Static Pass Box

A static pass box (passive pass box) is a simple transfer hatch installed between two equally classified clean area. It has no active airflow or blower; instead it relies on natural pressure balance. The doors are interlocked (only one opens at a time) and typically incorporate a UV lamp to disinfect items placed inside. It’s meant for quick, low-risk transfers.

Type of Statis Pass Box

This is the passive form of a pass box. Unlike the dynamic type, it is used only when transferring materials between spaces of the same cleanliness level (e.g. ISO Class 7 to ISO Class 7) hvax.in. Sometimes called a “UV pass-through” because of its built-in sterilization light.

Application in Various industries

Common in routine laboratory or production settings where rooms share the same ISO classification. It’s used for passing small items (samples, tools, paperwork) that need minor decontamination (via UV lamp) before entering the next area. Ideal for non-complex, quick transfers where full airlock procedures aren’t needed. Examples include intra-facility labs, packaging areas, or between cleanroom subsections of equal grade.

Material Selection Considerations

  • Also constructed of stainless steel (SS304/SS316) to meet cleanroom hygiene standardshvax.in. All edges are sealed and smooth for cleaning. Static boxes include interlocked doors (usually with acrylic or glass panels) and a UV lamp inside. Because there’s no blower, simpler controls and no HEPA filter are used. The chamber must be airtight to prevent leaks; seals and gaskets are critical.
